The artist's description: I encountered the mythical figure of Minerva when I was commissioned to paint the goddess and her muses on a harpsichord soundboard. This scarf is representative of her, a warrior goddess and defender of the arts. I imagined the scarf with pieces of her armour, so that the wearer can wrap herself in it. I know many female warriors, fighting steadfastly for art and music and things that are good for the soul. Maybe you know some too?
